Amazin’ is a deceptively simple project looking at elevating how books are shared and celebrated online. It began with a bit of disbelief — I’ve always been amazed at how badly Amazon presents the books they sell. As they’ve grown to sell pretty much everything, books feel more like a leftover category than something to champion.

For the last 10 years or so I’ve been working on a children’s book project, and combined with buying books for my daughter, I’ve built up a vast collection I wanted to talk about. I wanted to use web technologies but give it an app-like feel — something tactile and playful — while centring (literally) on the books themselves, where possible I’ve used independent book referral links.
